„…das Besondere an Ilya ist, dass er versucht nicht nur tolle Fotos zu machen, sondern auch das Individuelle von jedem herauszufinden und wiederzugeben. Kein einziges Mal hat er uns in irgendwelche Pose eingequetscht, wo man verkrampft und unnatürlich lächeln oder einander mit verrenkten Armen und ausgekugelten Schultern umarmen musste. Er ließ uns einfach so sein wie wir sind und dabei wunderschöne Fotos geschossen… Darum sind auch seine Fotos so unterschiedlich wie die Leute, die er fotografiert, und nicht die gestellte Klons, nach dem Motto „Die Braut und das Baum/die Blumen etc.“
Und die Fotos mit dem lächelnden Dima gehen stolz in die Familiengeschichte ein….“

Not once he has shot us in a pose where we are tense and smile unnaturally or hug each other with twisted arms and dislocated shoulders.
He just let us be what we are,while taking wonderful pictures …That is why his photos are as diverse as the people he’s photographed. Among his photos you will never find such clone photos as ‘The bride and a tree’ ‘The bride and a bouquet’, etc.
And the photos of smiling Dima will be proudly imprinted in the history of our family.“
